Under the bright sunshine at London Stadium, DT38 Awareness Day 2026 became one of the most emotional and uplifting days in the charity’s history — a day of remembrance, awareness, fundraising and a West Ham United victory.
Held around West Ham United’s Premier League fixture against Everton FC on 25th April 2026, the event marked the 12th annual DT38 Awareness Match in honour of Dylan Tombides. And in a moment that felt written in the stars, West Ham secured a memorable 2-1 win over Everton — the first Hammers victory in twelve DT38 Awareness fixtures.
The atmosphere around London Stadium was incredible from the moment supporters arrived. Under beautiful blue skies and warm spring sunshine, DT38 volunteers and fundraisers gathered outside the stadium throughout the day for the “Donate a Quid for Dylan” campaign. Armed with buckets and a specially created QR code, the team worked tirelessly encouraging supporters to donate and learn more about the importance of early detection and self-checking for testicular cancer.
The campaign received fantastic support both online and in person, with a huge number of famous faces lending their voices to help spread DT38’s life-saving message.
Ahead of kick-off, Tracy Tombides delivered a moving pitch-side interview, bravely sharing Dylan’s story once again while encouraging men and boys to regularly self-check and seek medical advice if something feels wrong. Joining Tracy was former West Ham winger and proud DT38 Ambassador Matt Jarvis, whose continued support for the charity has helped raise awareness across the football community.
New DT38 Patron Alan Curbishley and Ambassador Anton Ferdinand also joined the DT38 team pitch-side before the match, showing their support for the charity and helping reinforce the importance of the awareness campaign.
One of the most powerful moments of the day came during the 38th minute of the match, when Hammers and Toffees supporters united in an emotional applause in memory of Dylan Tombides. Thousands of fans rose to honour a young man whose legacy continues to save lives more than a decade after his passing.
For everyone connected to DT38, the day was about far more than football. It was about continuing Dylan’s mission — raising awareness, encouraging conversations, and reminding people that early detection saves lives.
As the final whistle blew on West Ham’s 2-1 victory, there was a feeling that this year’s awareness day had been truly special: a celebration of Dylan’s life, the power of community, and the lasting impact of the DT38 message.
To everyone who donated, volunteered, shared the campaign online, applauded in the 38th minute, or simply stopped to listen — thank you. Every conversation matters. Every self-check matters. Every life matters.
