DT38 UK Golf Day raises vital funds in spectacular day of golf and Hammers memories
The sun shone, the golf was competitive and the West Ham United memories came flooding back as the annual DT38 UK Golf Day took place at Langdon Hills Golf & Country Club on Tuesday 11 August, raising vital funds to support the work of DT38.
Organised by E13 Events, the event was a huge success, selling out in just 24 hours before welcoming around 150 guests to Langdon Hills.
A special thank you must go to Terry Moncur and the team at Langdon Hills Golf & Country Club, alongside Ian Morgan and the E13 Events team, whose hard work and dedication helped make the day possible.
Many of the guests took to the course during the day for the four-ball golf competition, with prizes awarded for the overall competition as well as the Longest Drive and Nearest to the Pin.
As the golf came to an end, attention turned to the evening fundraising dinner, hosted brilliantly by former West Ham United player Scott Minto.
The evening featured an incredible line-up of former Hammers icons, with Sir Trevor Brooking, Tony Cottee, Marlon Harewood, George Parris, Stuart Slater, Alan Curbishley, Geoff Pike, Paul Brush, Keith Robson, Alan McKnight, Brian Dear, Lee Hodges and Everald La Ronde all helping to make it a memorable night for everyone in attendance.
There were also two particularly poignant moments during the evening.
Nick Haycock, who was Dylan Tombides’ former coach at West Ham United, delivered a moving speech reflecting on Dylan, their time together at West Ham United, while Tracy Tombides spoke about her son, his legacy and the vital work being carried out by DT38 to educate young men about testicular cancer.

The evening also provided the perfect opportunity to showcase the new DT38 3-Pack Boxer Shorts, with Marlon Harewood and Joe Sealey taking part in a live on-stage display to help promote the latest DT38 fundraising merchandise.
The boxer shorts are available now from the official West Ham United online store, with proceeds supporting the work of DT38.

A day to remember
From the first tee-off to the final speech, the DT38 UK Golf Day was a fantastic celebration of friendship, football and fundraising.
Most importantly, it was a day with a purpose.
Every pound raised helps DT38 continue its work in Dylan’s name — educating young men, raising awareness of testicular cancer and encouraging them to take action when something doesn’t feel right.
