DT38 Charity Seeks Runners for Ultra X 12k on Dylan Tombides’ Anniversary
DT38, our charity founded in memory of Dylan Tombides, is calling on supporters, runners, and community members to take part in a special challenge this spring: the Ultra X 12k at Cowdray Estate on 18th April.
The date holds deep significance. 18th April marks the 12th anniversary of Dylan Tombides’ passing, making this event not just a physical challenge, but a powerful moment of remembrance and unity. By running together, participants will help continue Dylan’s legacy and support DT38’s ongoing work raising awareness and funds for testicular cancer.
A fundraising target of £25,000 has been set for the run, with DT38 Patron David Sullivan Junior spearheading the effort alongside DT38 Ambassador Gareth Vidler, who suggested the event for our charity.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Cowdray Estate, the Ultra X 12k offers a rewarding course suitable for experienced runners and those looking to push themselves for a meaningful cause. DT38 is looking to build a team of runners who are willing to take on the challenge, represent the charity, and help spread its message.
Whether you’re a seasoned athlete, a casual runner, or someone motivated by the chance to make a difference, this is an opportunity to be part of something truly special. Running for DT38 means standing for early cancer detection, education, and support for those affected.
All people who can commit to fundraising for DT38 through the 12k run can join the DT38 running team and will also benefit from a 20% discount on the Ultra X race entry fee. Under 23s can run for FREE.
Speaking about the run DT38 Co-Founder Tracy Tombides, Mother of Dylan, said: “The £25,000 raised for DT38 will significantly enhance the charity’s ability to provide essential resources and support.
“A portion of these funds will be allocated towards acquiring vital medical testicular health resources, which are crucial for raising awareness and facilitating early detection of testicular cancer. This will enable the charity to distribute educational materials, conduct workshops, and provide screenings in various communities.
“Additionally, the funding will allow DT38 to employ a part-time administrative assistant. This role is essential for streamlining operations, managing communications, and ensuring that the charity can effectively coordinate its programs and outreach efforts. With the right support in place, DT38 will be better positioned to fulfil its mission and make a lasting impact in the fight against testicular cancer.”
