Brisbane Roar are proud to welcome DT38 Australia on board as the club’s Charity Partner to unite in raising awareness for testicular cancer.
DT38 aim to drive the self-awareness campaign for early detection, focus on youth education through various teaching programmes, partnering with the community to promote increased male awareness and open discussions, and collaborating with governing bodies.
DT38 has been set up in memory of Dylan James Tombides who was an Australian International and West Ham United professional football player who passed away aged 20 in April 2014 after a 3-year battle with testicular cancer.
For the Brisbane Roar’s away game against Perth Glory at HBF Park on 17 February 2024, both teams’ Captains will be walking out with a special DT38 top to display their support in raising awareness for testicular cancer.
DT38 will also be the Charity Partner for Brisbane Roar’s home game where they will host Newcastle Jets on the 13th of April at Suncorp Stadium.
“Brisbane Roar are proud to welcome DT38 as our Charity Partner as the club strongly support the mission to raise awareness for testicular cancer. It is the courage to continue that counts. Much like Dylan Tombides, whose spirit and unwavering determination on the football field, even in the face of life’s toughest challenge, continues to inspire us all. We look forward to our Captain walking out with personalised DT38 tee in a couple of weeks’ time,” Brisbane Roar Chairman & CEO Kaz Patafta stated.
“DT38 are so proud and honoured to partner with Brisbane Roar as our 2nd Aleagues Charity Partner. This holds great significance in our mission to raising awareness and further cementing Dylan’s legacy in the Australian football community. We look forward to working with our Principal Charity Partner Perth Glory Football Club & our new Charity Partner Brisbane Roar FC over the seasons.” DT38 Head of Media & Operations – Donna Giuffre stated
