Welcome to the DT38 October 2022 newsletter, Channel38.
It’s been another great month for DT38 and we’re excited to share some of the very latest news, events and stories involving our charity.
It’s also a chance for us to pass on vital information about the work we do raising awareness of testicular cancer across the world, around schools and in communities as well as publicly showing gratitude for the many people who support us in our work.
Men and boys: Remember to check yourselves on the first of every month, it could save your life!
Tickets On Sale Now for DT38 White Collar Boxing Event
Tickets are on sale now for the hugely popular Awareness Below The Belt 4, our DT38 White Collar Boxing event on November 13th.
This spectacular occasion is a fixture in the DT38 calendar and has been a tremendous success in previous years.
A favourite amongst Hammers fans and graced by many celebrities including Declan Rice, Carlton Cole, Jermain Defoe, Bianca Westwood and Daniella Westbrook.
The thrilling action will feature a programme of pre-arranged boxing matches involving people with limited experience in the ring under the supervision of Peacock Gym who are organising the event in partnership with DT38.
It takes place at one of the world’s most famous boxing venues, York Hall in Bethnal Green, London on Remembrance Sunday.
Each of the big-hearted competitors has committed to take part to raise funds for DT38 and our work raising awareness of testicular cancer to help save men and boy’s lives through education.
There will also be a fundraising auction with some very special lots up for grabs on the day!
Doors are at 12.30pm and the first bell is at 2 pm.
It promises, once again, to be one amazing day!

Bawlsy Blokes – Coming Next Year
Something big is brewing down under.
Excitement is building at DT38 Australia for a brand new event, just for fellas, who have the balls to come and spread the word about testicular cancer.
Bawlsy Blokes will take place in the first quarter of 2023 at a top secret location in the Perth area (WA 6000).
And we’re inviting guys to join us for a fun-filled evening with DT38’s message at the heart of it.
Of course everything has to be organised properly so there’ll be some women around the place (just joking fellas) including DT38’s inspiring co-founder Tracy Tombides.
The event includes live entertainment, celebrity guests, unlimited food and beers and an auction with some AMAZING items up for grabs.
Watch the space for more details and for ticket info.
Full House of Celebs for DT38 at Charity Event
A galaxy of stars shone at a very special charity poker tournament in October to raise funds for DT38.
YouTuber and entrepreneur Caspar Lee, rapper KSI and TV star Jamie Laing were joined by internet legends WillNE, Calfreezy, Arthur B, businesswoman Kathleen Breitman and investor Sasha Kaletsky.
DT38 co-founder Tracy Tombides attended the event which was organised by and held at Les Ambassadeurs in London.
It raised more than £16,000 towards our work raising awareness of testicular cancer to help save men and boy’s lives through education.
We’re extremely grateful to everyone involved, huge thanks for your time and generosity.
Awards Galore Down Under
A brilliant new initiative to reward young footballers has been launched by DT38 partner club Stirling Macedonia FC.
In October the NPLWA team unveiled the inaugural Dylan Tombides Rising Star Awards to recognise the talents of its young players.
Four special accolades were presented to Filip Antanasov, Bobby Bogos, David Klimoski and Nikola Taveski.
Congratulations guys.
Also this month DT38 Australia Head of Media & Operations Donna Giuffre was honoured to attend the NPLWA Awards on behalf of DT38.
Donna took to the stage to present the Dylan Tombides Young Male Player of the Year Award to Pieter Jacobsz.
Brilliant work Pieter!
Matt Upson Urges Men & Boys to Check Themselves Regularly
Former West Ham United FC and England defender Matt Upson has given his support to our Check 1-Two campaign to encourage men and boys to get checking.
This month we were delighted to share a special message from Matt exclusively for DT38 to encourage guys to check their testicles on the first day of every month.
The video was shared on October 1st and each month on the first day we send out a film from a supporter or famous face to help spread this vital information.
Did you know? Self-checking is simple, you can do it in bed, in the shower, on the couch or anywhere private, and it could save your life!
Early detection is so important when it comes to health issues such as testicular cancer and that’s why we’ll keep reminding you to get checking!
Huge gratitude to Matt and to all of the many great folks who’ve joined in our Check 1-Two campaign so far. Keep an eye out for who’s going to make an appearance on November 1st.
