DT38 Newsletter “Channel38” – October 2021

Welcome to the DT38 October 2021 newsletter, Channel38.

It’s been another busy month for us at DT38 and we’re delighted to share some of the very latest developments, events and stories involving our charity.

It’s also a chance for us to pass on vital information about the work we do to raise awareness of testicular cancer around schools and in communities as well as publicly showing gratitude for the many people who support us in our work.

Men and boys: Remember to check yourselves on the first of every month, it could save your life!

The Latest News & Stories – October 2021

Testicular Cancer Ultrasound Event Success

We were thrilled to welcome more than 80 men and boys to our FREE testicular cancer ultrasound scan event on October 16th, which was fully booked!

The session was organised by DT38 in partnership with The PFA and we would like to offer big thanks to Duncan Hardy and Ultrasound Services, Applecross for making the day happen.

We were also very grateful to Perth Glory’s DT38 U-23 Best Player of the Year Luke Bodnar who joined us on the day!

We would also like to show our gratitude to Perth Glory FC for their support.

This event is a great example of how DT38 supports males by raising awareness of testicular and helping save men and boy’s lives.

London Marathon – Huge Support for DT38 Runners

We have been blown away by the efforts of two people who ran the London Marathon to raise funds for DT38 this month.

Dominic Rogan – the Head Physiotherapist at West Ham United FC – raised a massive £34,822.25 (including Gift Aid) from sponsorship and DT38 supporter Paul Warren secured £760 (including Gift Aid).

We are extremely grateful to both runners for their efforts and for completing the gruelling 26.2 mile course on October 3rd in our name.

The funds raised will support our ongoing work to help save men and boys’ lives by raising awareness of testicular cancer as well as educating young people about wellbeing and arranging free screening events.

Thank you.

Picture of the Month

We receive so many fantastic pictures every month and we also get some crackers from our own events.

This month we’re doing something slightly different for our

chosen “Picture of the Month”. We’re giving the space over to 20-year-old Norwich City goalkeeper Dan Barden, who is on loan at Livingston FC in the SPL.

Dan has recently been diagnosed with testicular cancer and we’re sending our love and best wishes to him on his battle with the disease.
