Welcome to the DT38 May 2022 newsletter, Channel38.
It’s been another busy month for us at DT38 and we’re delighted to share some of the very latest developments, events and stories involving our charity.
It’s also a chance for us to pass on vital information about the work we do to raise awareness of testicular cancer around schools and in communities as well as publicly showing gratitude for the many people who support us in our work.
Men and boys: Remember to check yourselves on the first of every month, it could save your life!
Glorious Night at the Perth Glory MGP Awards

We were honoured to don our dinner suits and ball gowns for the glitzy Perth Glory FC MGP Awards 2022.
DT38 Director Chris de Lima, Head of Media & Operations Donna Giuffre, and Co-Founder and father of Dylan, Jim Tombides represented our charity at the star studded night at Crown Perth on May 20th.
We were so pleased to present the DT38 U23 Player of the Year to Glory midfielder Giordano Colli.
Huge congrats to Giordano and to all winners on what was a fantastic night celebrating with Glory players and officials.
We’re immensely proud to partner with your Club.
One Glory!
Thomas Randle Races to Become DT38 Ambassador

A huge welcome to Supercars star Thomas Randle who was announced as an Ambassador of DT38 this month.
Thomas – who himself battled testicular cancer in 2020 – was approached trackside at a meet by DT38 Youth Ambassador Lee Bondi who quickly sealed the deal with a handshake!
The motorsport hero – who drives for Tickford Racing – will help DT38 raise awareness of testicular cancer and the importance of self checking.
We’re thrilled to have Thomas on board.
On the Sonny Side of the Street!

We would like to say huge congratulations to 18-year-old Hammers midfielder Sonny Perkins who scooped the Dylan Tombides Award at the West Ham United FC Players Awards earlier this month.
The accolade is presented each season to the most promising Academy player at the Club for the season.
Past winners include Declan Rice, Josh Cullen and Reece Oxford.
Speaking at the event on May 9th he said: “It’s an honour to win an important award for the qualities it’s about, and also an important person, somebody who tragically lost their life and obviously a talented player as well,” Perkins said. “I think everybody in the Academy knows it’s an important award, so it means a lot to me.”

Special Day at Perth Glory FC v Melbourne City FC Raising Awareness of DT38

Huge thanks to everyone at our partner club Perth Glory FC and to Melbourne City FC for your support at the DT38 Round on May 4th.
The A-League fixture was dedicated to raising awareness for DT38 and the huge round of applause for Dylan on minute 38 was truly heartwarming.
We were delighted to invite so many children as DT38 mascots on the day and to have our wonderful director Claire Meredith take part in the coin toss.
Friends of the charity including TV star David Genat and Luke Toki joined us and joined in a penalty challenge on the pitch.
