Tracy Talks About Dylan & DT38 On Man Marking Podcast

Our co-founder Tracy Tombides – mother of Dylan Tombides – was delighted to have been invited to take part in Episode 74 of the Man Marking Podcast.

Marking Man Podcast operates around the world of football with an emphasis on men’s mental health and the importance of keeping the conversation going.

In this episode (No.74) Tracy spoke passionately about her son Dylan, his brave battle with testicular cancer and the work of DT38 to help other men and boys become awareness of testicular health.

Noble Effort from Mark For DT38

We’re so pleased to share this very special video of West Ham United fan Sam Cleaver enjoying a Zoom call with Hammers legend and DT38 Ambassador Mark Noble.

In April 2021, as part of DT38 Awareness Day around West Ham’s Premier League fixture with Burnley FC on April 24, we held a raffle for the chance to win this unique prize.

Lucky Sam was the very deserving winner and the raffle raised vital funds for our charity.

Thank you to Mark, West Ham United and to everyone who bought tickets.

D”Tee”38 – Golf Day Announced

We’re very much looking forward to the DT38 Charity Golf Day which is taking place at Langdon Hills Golf & Country Club, Essex on August 24th.

This event – postponed in 2020 because of Covid-19 – has been organised to raise runds for DT38 to help us continue to help save men and boy’s lives by raising awareness of testicular cancer.

Testicular cancer is the most common form of the disease amongst young men in the world.

The star studded golf event features six West Ham United icons taking to the fairways in support of DT38 including Sir Trevor Brooking, Tony Gale, Martin Allen, Steve Lomas, Mark Ward and Brian Dear.

Massive Message From Matt!

Every month we share an important message from a DT38 Ambassador as part of our Check-1-Two campaign.

The initiative was launched in 2020 to encourage men and boys to check their testicles on the first day of every month for anything that doesn’t seem normal.

In July we were delighted to share a film from former Premier League and England footballer Matt Jarvis.

Save the Date! DT38 White Collar Boxing is back!

Ding, ding, round 3!

We’re excited to reveal that the third annual DT38 White Collar Boxing event “Awareness Below the Belt 3.0” will take place at York Hall, Bethnal Green, London on November 14th, 2021.

It’s so great to see the return of this very popular event, brought to you by DT38 and Peacock Gym, after it was cancelled last year because of Covid-19 restrictions.

We’ll be revealing information on how you can book tickets and get involved in other ways very soon.

Many Happy Returns

A fabulous four birthdays took place across July for our lovely DT38 crew.

Celebrations kicked off on July 7th when DT38 Ambassador and sports broadcaster Adam Peacock celebrated his big day.

Just four days later West Ham legend Tony Cottee turned 56 on the day of the Euro 2020 final, while fellow DT38 Ambassador and Western Sydney Warriors player Rhys Williams turned 32 on July 14th.

Finally on July 27th Socceroo defender and DT38 Ambassador Josh Risdon was 29.

Many Happy Returns one and all!

Picture of the Month

It’s lovely to receive so many fabulous pictures from here, there and everywhere and we also get some crackers from our own events.

This month we’re featuring Ball or Brawl, a fantastic basketball team from Victoria, Au.

The lads have chosen to support DT38 as a club by helping us raise awareness of testicular cancer and we’re stoked about that!

So, our chosen “Picture of the Month” is this belter featuring our co-founder Tracy Tombides with the boys from Ball or Brawl.

Slam dunk!

Support DT38 at our Online Shop

Of course the Coronavirus has had a significant impact upon everyone.

A large part of DT38’s fundraising comes from events we run throughout the year, as well as from individuals, companies and organisations who undertake fundraising initiatives to support our campaign to raise awareness of testicular cancer.

But we, like many others, have sadly been affected by the postponement of cancellation of many events and fundraising opportunities across 2020 and until at least Summer 2021.

The funds we receive are vital to support our ongoing work to help save the lives of men and boys through education and self-checking campaigns.

If you would like to continue supporting DT38 we do still accept direct donations via our website, you can donate towards our 3.80 Funding Appeal or you could make a purchase through our online store here: https://dt38foundation.myshopify.com

Thank you so much for any support you can give.

Sharing the Love

We are so grateful to more than 35,000 people who follow and support us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

Every month we receive so many shares, Retweets, likes and tags and we’re so grateful for each and every one of them, thank you.

And that brings to end this edition but we’ll be back with the next edition of Channel38 in August. If you have helped DT38 in some way in recent times, please be sure to let us know so we can include it in one of our future newsletters.
