The Latest News & Stories – January 2022

Isla Caton Tribute

We were absolutely devastated to hear about the passing of Isla Caton on January 25th.

Little Isla – who was just seven-years-old – was a big Hammers fan who won the hearts of people across football and the wider world.

Her gorgeous smile and beautiful spirit endured throughout a five-year battle with Neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer.

In May 2017 her mother Nicola launched a fundraising campaign which was supported by West Ham United and so many people across football and the wider world who donated to support Isla’s treatment.

Our Co-Founder, Tracy Tombides who lost her son Dylan to testicular cancer in 2014 at the age of 20, contacted the Caton family to pass on her condolences.

“My sincere condolences to you Michael and Millie. You did everything humanly possible, never forget that. Take peace in knowing she is no longer in pain and will watch over you all for the rest of your lives. I know you are broken hearted. I know the pain is too much to bare. I know one day you will smile when you think about the impact your beautiful daughter has had on this world. All my love, Tracy.”

Rest in peace beautiful Isla xx

Yes, we are currently booking for this new fundraising event on March 11th, and all players on the day will be in with a chance of winning an amazing Izuzu vehicle worth up to $60,000 at the event.

Events such as this are vital to our charity’s success. Our mission is to raise awareness and change the stigma associated with men’s health issues with a particular focus on testicular cancer.

We do this through providing educational programmes and opportunities for the youth of our community, to help shape a generation of children who are self- aware about their health and wellbeing. In order to do this we need your support.

Donna Giuffre, Head of Media & Operations at DT38 Australia, said: “We’re so excited to now be in a position to host our DT38 Australia Golf Day, it’s going to be epic!

“A huge thanks to all of our partners who’ve been so amazing in supporting this important occasion.

“We guarantee it is going to be great fun, but it’s also a vital day in DT38 Australia’s fundraising calendar and so we urge people to book early, not just to secure your places, but also support our ongoing mission to raise awareness of testicular cancer and help save men and boy’s lives.”

An Important New Year Message from Our Co-Founder Tracy Tombides

To kick off the seventh year of our charity, DT38 Co-Founder Tracy Tombides sent out a very important New Year message on January 1st.

In the latest installment video for our campaign Check 1-Two, Tracy reminded men and boys to check themselves down under on the first day of every month.

Self checking is simple, you can do it in bed, in the shower or anywhere private, and it could save your life!

Early detection is so important when it comes to health issues such as testicular cancer and that’s why we’ll keep reminding you to get checking!

Thank you.
