Welcome to the DT38 Foundation August newsletter, Channel38.

This is where we bring together all the very latest developments, events, support stories at DT38.

It’s also a chance for us to share important information about the work we do to raise awareness of testicular cancer around schools and in communities as well as publicly offering our thanks to the many people who support us in our endeavours.

We are very proud and touched to announce that the annual Dylan Tombides Trophy match took place at Dorrien Gardens on August 4thfor Perth Soccer Club v Stirling Lions.

The match ended 2-1 to PSC and on the 38thminute an applause took place in memory of Dylan.

Thank you to all at PSC and Stirling Lions for your continued support.

Welcome Arthur and George

This month we welcomed two very special young men as Ambassadors of DT38.

Arthur Gaywood is just ten-years-old and has been raising awareness for our charity for some time including running Race for Life on more than one occasion.

And for the past year, nine-year-old George Audin has been sharing DT38’s message after becoming inspired by Dylan.

He has given a talk to his school friends about DT38 and his junior football team carries the DT38 logo on their kit.

It gives us great pleasure to welcome them into our fantastic team of DT38 Ambassadors which includes our Patron Mile Jedinak and Hammer’s captain Mark Noble.

Our Emma hits the hills of San Francisco for DT38

Emma Green is one remarkable woman.

Time and again the Hammer’s fan has ran marathons to raise funds and awareness for DT38.

On July 31stshe took on – what was in her words – her toughest challenge yet, the San Francisco Marathon.

But despite the steep inclines and unfamiliar climate, Emma wore her DT38 vest with pride and completed the 26.2 mile route.

Another one ticked off Emma and thank you so much for your continued effort and support, you’re a legend!

Happy Birthday to you!

The birthdays of our esteemed DT38 Ambassadors come thick and fast in August.

On August 3rd, our amazing Patron Mile Jedinak turned 34 and on August 8thhis compatriot Liam Reddy of Perth Glory FC was 37.

One August 16thit was Happy Birthday to Aussie legend Stan Lazaridis and two days later Dylan’s old West Ham United buddy George Moncur marked his 25th.

New DT38 Ambassador George Audin was 9 on the 21stand Hammers’ defender James Collins became 35 on August 23rd.

We would like to wish Many Happy Returns to all of these fantastic DT38 Ambassadors!

Picture of the Month

From the many great DT38 images we receive from supporters each month (and there are many) we choose our favourite and name it Picture of the Month.

So here is the winner for August. Rory Carroll created this collage of images after a visit to Dorrien Gardens, the home of Perth Soccer Club, where the club has created a wonderful visual tribute to Dylan. Thank you PSC and, of course, to Rory for sharing!

Take Part in DT38’s White Collar Boxing Day

Ever wanted to be a champion boxer? Now is your chance.

We are on the hunt for men or women to compete in the first-ever DT38 White Collar Boxing Day, now in November.

Never boxed before? Don’t worry, most of the guys and girls who’ve already signed up for the big day, on November 11th, have never entered the ring and you’ll be in safe hands with the experts from London’s Peacock Gym.

You’ll also be given plenty of safety gear and a set of rules designed to ensure that white collar boxing is just about fitness, fun and raising funds for DT38.

Of course, if you can take part, we’d love it if you could raise some funds for DT38 at the same time by selling tickets to your friends and family – it’s what it’s all about!

If you’d be interested in getting involved and are over the age of 18, please contact
