The first ever White Collar boxing day in aid of DT38 will take place in November and tickets are now on sale.
The event named “Awareness Below The Belt” will take place on November 11 at York Hall, London – a venue that has played host to many legends of boxing including Joe Calzaghe, Nigel Benn, Ricky Hatton, Chris Eubank and Carl Froch.
For newcomers to the sport, White Collar Boxing gives the opportunity for complete novices – or those with limited experience – to take part in a boxing match, under carefully controlled conditions.
And applications for men and women over the age of 18 who wish to join in the action are still being taken.
Already lined up to box is David Sullivan Jr – son of West Ham United FC Joint-Chairman David Sullivan – who will enter the ring to raise funds for DT38.
The busy card of bouts for beginners (mostly) will also see Taylor Tombides – brother of our charity’s inspiration Dylan Tombides – compete alongside a host of more than 20 willing first-time fighters.
Taking control of the DT38 fundraising auction and presenting the trophies on the day will be former WBC light-heavyweight World Champion John Conteh.
Lots up for auction so far include a ÂŁ4,200 made-measure-suit from Saville Row tailor and Hammers fan David Cooke at Denman and Goddard, a meal for two at May Fair Kitchen, London, a suit from Hawes and Curtis, an overnight stay at St James’s Hotel and Club in Mayfair, a training session with heavyweight boxing sensation Daniel Dubois at The Peacock Gym and a golf package.
The phenomenon that is White Collar Boxing has taken the world by storm in recent years.
Of course, because the action involves men and woman who – for the most part – have never boxed before, the event will be overseen by the qualified experts from London’s famous Peacock Gym.
Tracy Tombides, Founder of DT38, said: “We are really excited for this event which we’re able to stage because of the help we have received from Peacock Gym, Crown Community London and West Ham United FC.
“It’s going to be a thrilling day of entertainment and we’re hoping to see as many people there as possible.
“In fact, tickets are selling well and there are now only 30 ringside seats left.
“I would like to offer my thanks to all of the men and women who have agreed to fight and, in particular, to David Sullivan Jr who’s a great sport for putting himself up for this to help our charity.
“But if you would like to take part, there is still time, please just get in touch.
“Every penny raised from the day will be used to continue our mission to raise awareness testicular cancer and the risk to men’s health.”
All profits from ticket sales and the prize auction on the day will be donated to DT38 Foundation.
Tickets are priced as follows:-
Ringside (seated) – £60
Balcony (seated) – £40
