Welcome to the DT38 Foundation February newsletter, Channel38.
This is where we bring together all the very latest developments, events, support stories at DT38.
It’s also a chance for us to share important information about the work we do to raise awareness of testicular cancer around schools and in communities as well as publicly offering our thanks to the many people who support us in our endeavours.
Interview with new DT38 Ambassador Rhys Ryan
We are delighted to welcome Rhys on board as an Ambassador of DT38 Foundation.
Rhys has had his own battle with testicular cancer and Dylan’s story was of great inspiration to the aspiring Aussie journalist, who is very keen to help raise awareness about the importance of self-checking on a regular basis.
The affable 20-year-old makes new pals wherever he goes and in this exclusive interview he also shares with us how he’s struck up a friendship with King of the Jungle Harry Redknapp and spent last Christmas at their family home…
Oh…and he’s also hung out with the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Yaya Touré and Robbie Savage to name but a few.

More Free Scans at Applecross, WA
Once again we were delighted to offer free scans for testicular cancer to men on Saturday February 9t.
We would like to offer our sincere thanks to Duncan Hardy and his team at Ultrasound Services and we are delighted this partnership continues to thrive.
In addition to raising awareness of testicular cancer we are committed to offering free scan sessions to the public at every available opportunity.
Early detection of this disease saves lives and we are very pleased so many men were able to join us on the day.
DT38 Awareness Match at Perth Glory
Once again huge gratitude to everyone at Perth Glory FC for putting our charity on centre stage at their annual awareness round match on February 2n.
Thanks to great exposure within the match day magazine and around the NIB Stadium on the day we were very grateful for the opportunity to spread the word about the work of DT38 to so many new people.
We also cheered loud and proud as DT38 Junior Ambassador Lee Bondi carried out the match ball ahead of kick off.
On the day Glory took a 3-0 victory over Wellington Phoenix FC.
DT38 White Collar Boxing, Round Two
Following the amazing success of our inaugural event last year, we’re delighted to reveal that Awareness Below the Belt 2.0 will take place on November 10, 2019 and it is very much taking shape.
In late February we were thrilled to hear that great supporter of DT38 and West Ham United season ticket holder Baz Cox (aka Triple B) would be returning to the ring in 2019, following his heavyweight victory at York Hall last year.
Hats off (and gloves on) to Baz!
The 2019 event will once again be held at York Hall, London, and we’re now on the look out for more people to take part in this important and exciting event to help DT38 in raising awareness of testicular cancer.
We’re hunting for men and women over the age of 18 who are not experienced boxers, full training will be provided*
The event is brought to you in partnership with Peacock White Collar Boxing who will oversee the action in the ring, keeping it safe and exciting for everyone.
DT38 Founder, Tracy Tombides, said: “Huge thanks to Baz for stepping up once again.
“Last year’s Awareness Below the Belt was an outstanding success.
“We saw so many brilliant people taking part in a boxing match for the first time to raise very important funds for DT38.
“We’re now on the hunt for the next generation, so if you’re interested in entering the ring and supporting our campaign to raise awareness of testicular cancer please get in touch, we’d love to hear from you.”

Picture of the Month
With plenty to choose from, every month we have the tough task of choosing our Picture of the Month from those shared on social media.
This month we’ve chosen this lovely image of little Frankie reading Didge, our book for kids inspired by Dylan’s story.
